UPS XML Tracking Case Study - Premier Worldwide Express
Premier Worldwide Express is a leading provider of international courier and foreign mail services.
Premier sought to develop a stronger business relationship with UPS by demonstrating their commitment
to using leading edge technology to improve their business transaction performance.
Integration with UPS XML Tracking API
Premier's existing manual process for interfacing with the UPS Tracking Application was slow and prone to errors.
Utilize InsiTech's XTT Technology™ to develop an application that will automatically track shipments that are in Premier's customer database against the UPS API.
Integrated into Premier's legacy business system an application built with XTT™ that automatically track shipments against the UPS API and updates the Premier database with current information. No user intervention is required. Proof of Delivery letters can also be generated as required.
InsiTech became the first developer to create an interface to the UPS XML Tracking API and have it certified by UPS.
System performs automated tracking for shipments in the customer database, and updates the records with delivery information in real-time.
No user intervention is required therefore reducing the need for status verification for individual shipments and the potential errors associated with manual entry of data.
Solution was developed within 2 weeks and has been running against the UPS Tracking API since April 2001.
The system was developed and deployed using the following technologies:
- XTT version 2.0
- OpenInsight Database
- Forte 3.0
- JDK version 1.3
- JRE version 1.3
